Emily Lydia Snyder Thompson writes about her immigration to Utah in 1848, her father taking the family to California in 1850, her father starting a boarding house, a flood, being threatened by Indians, food shortages, following Brigham Young's counsel and abandoning her home in 1858, her husband's call to go to Sanpete in 1866, the Black Hawk War and other topics.
