Traces seven generations of Elias W. Howell's paternal ancestry. Includes maps, pictures, and other copied documents. Elias's parents joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in New York, 1841-42. Elias crossed the plains to Utah in 1852 and settled in North Bend (subsequently named Fairview) in 1860.

Miner on March 19, 1984 for the Joint Oral History Program of the Brigham Young University Archives and the BYU Alumni Association Emeritus Club. Miner talks about growing up in Fairview, Utah, attending Brigham Young University, and his various teaching assignments.
