Scope and Contents Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typescript of an interview. Bogan was interviewed by Mary A. Hicks in 1937 as part of the Federal Writer's Project for the Works Progress Administration. The item includes handwritten corrections. The interview took place in the North Carolina state prison, where Bogan was incarcerated for manslaughter. He tells about his father going to war to fight with his master for the Confederacy.
