Collection includes materials related to James and May Booth Talmage and their family. Included are digital images of documents, letters, journals, stories, and other material created by and about the Talmage family. Also included are seven CDs with digital images of some of Howells' documents on the James and May Booth Talmage family scanned by the Church History Library in 2010. Dated circa 1876 to 2010.

Contains the journals, pocket diaries, and a personal account book kept by James E. Talmage from December 1879 to July 4, 1933. These diaries cover his life from his time as a student at Brigham Young Academy, through his graduate school and academic career, and finally to his time spent as a member of Quorum of the Twelve Apostles in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Scope and Contents Includes diary, notebook, and lecture report. Diary begins with ten-page reminiscence, 1858. Sporadic diary entries are dated 1858-1879. Notes, some dating as late as 1885 (after Elisha's death), interspersed throughout volume. Volume also includes two pages of minutes to a high priest's quorum meeting, 23 October 1860, presumably held in Sanpete County; and several pages listing family names. The John Henry Smeath mission journals, 1923-1990. Includes: John Henry Smeath journals, 1923-1925 and Maude Frances Smeath Weight personal history, 1990. John Henry Smeath served in the British Isles Mission from 1923-1925, and the collection includes both his original journals and a bound typescript. The personal history of Maude Weight, John Henry's sister, is also included.

Scope and Contents Contains correspondence, journals, photographs, newspaper clippings, speeches, and memorabilia. Most of the materials relate to Smoot's career as a senator and his activities as a church leader.
