This includes his close association with the Mormon Prophets, Joseph Smith (1805-1844) and Brigham Young (1801-1877), his participation with the initial Mormon pioneer company of 1847, and his involvement in the settlement of Utah.

Also, typescript of a letter written by Alonzo on 29 October 1843 from Nauvoo, Illinois, to his father-in-law, John Taber (or Tabor), in Alfred, Maine. The two-page letter details the recent death of Alonzo's wife and Taber/Tabor's daughter, Mary Ann Taber/Tabor (b. 16 April 1822 in North Brewer, York, Maine).
