They were both award winning photographs and photographs exhibited in various places, such as the Utah State Fair or the National Press Association. Materials dated 1946-1988.

Includes 45,941 negatives associated with the J Malan Heslop photographs and include both black and white and color negatives. The negatives range in size from 35 mm, 120, 4x5, and 70 mm. They are primarily safety film, although a few of the earlier negatives are nitrate negatives. Materials dated 1940-2002.
