Fawcett was born in England, joined the Mormon Church in 1840, migrated to Utah in 1850, and settled in St. George, Utah where he served as a Mormon bishop. The other materials relate to Fawcett's work for the Mormon Church in St. George.

Ann was born in England and married George Jarvis at age sixteen. She and George were converted to the Mormon Church in 1848. George worked as a sailor to earn money for the journey to Utah. Handwritten and typewritten biographies, diaries, newspaper clippings, and family genealogical records. Included are biographies of Benjamin F. Johnson (1818-1905), Joel Hill Johnson (1802-1882), and Seth Johnson (1839-1927). The Johnson family joined the Mormon Church in the 1830s, lived in Nauvoo, Illinois, and later migrated to Utah where they settled in various communities.

Handwritten postcard addressed to M. L. McAllister of St. George, Utah and signed "Mary." Mary thanks McAllister for the picture she received and promises to send a letter soon. The postcard has a picture of Salt Lake City, Utah on the reverse side.

Handwritten diaries and financial records. The financial records deal with transactions relating to Nelson's shoemaking business. There are many gaps in the diary, and its entries are usually one or two lines in length.

His diary covers the years 1858 to 1862 when he served as an LDS missionary in England. Also included are some notes by Nelson's son, William Nelson, who had migrated to St. George, Utah.

Contains the original handwritten diary of Emma Wartstill (or Waitstill) Mecham Nielson that includes the time period from 1887 to 1916, with diary entries spanning from 1887 to 1897 and financial records spanning from 1914 to 1916. Diary is during the seven-month period Nielson was living by herself with her children in St. George, Utah, her daily activities as a mother and active church member, and her relationship with her fellow plural wife. Dated 1887 to 1916.
