Charles George Gordon letter to George Hugh Wyndham

Handwritten and signed letter, dated February 8, 1862, and addressed to George Hugh Wyndham. Gordon writes about his twenty-one day journey from Kalgan to various places in the Shansi Province of China. He refers to the fears the people have relating to the Taiping Rebellion.

Photocopied and bound typescripts of letters written by Ernest S. and Ferris Moulton during their trip to China in 1910. Each addressed the letters to friends and family members. Ernest and Ferris wrote about their personal experiences and observations while becoming familiar with the geographical, cultural, and economical conditions of China.
