Torn piece of an envelope. The item is addressed to "Barton O. Aylesworth, DD. President of Drake University, Des Moines, Iowa." "Compts of J. J. a'Becket" is also written on the item in another hand. On the reverse of the envelope "Thomas Turner A'Beckett" is written. The date of the item is unknown.

The item in question is not found with the collection. Also included is a typewritten and signed letter, dated 4 Sept. 1894, and addressed to Barton O. Aylesworth. Two handwritten and signed letters. One is dated 5 Sept. 1894 and is addressed to "Dear Sir" (probably Barton O. Aylesworth) in which Burroughs responds to a request for biographical information. Also included is an envelope probably in which the item was sent. The other letter is dated 2 April of an unspecified year and is addressed to "Miss Gertrude Stroham" (?) in which Burroughs tells her she may quote certain passages from his works. Two handwritten and signed letters, addressed to Barton O. Aylesworth, and dated 18 Nov. 1894 and 28 Jan. 1895. Barr responds to Aylesworth's request for biographical information on her and presents a list of some of her writings. Also with the collection are the envelopes in which the letters were sent, an autograph of Barr found on the back of one of her calling cards, and a magazine clipping giving information on Barr's life.
