Scope and Contents Frederick A. Caine collected these five photographs during his mission to Japan for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints circa 1902-1904. Three of the photographs are other missionaries in the field, two of the photographs presumably depict members of the church in Japan. Interpretation of the Japanese characters on the photographs indicates that these are collected by (or given to) Frederick A. Abstract

Contains a diary, correspondence, government documents, mission calls and releases, photographs, and a photo album has been organized into three boxes. The first box contains the diary and papers of Arther Cutler. The second box contains photocopies of photographs and the photo album. The third box contains the original photographs and photo album of the collection. Additionally, the photographs have been separated into three series: studio portraits, snapshots, and photo album.

Joseph Frederic Featherstone diary

Scope and Contents

Photocopies of a handwritten diary. Featherstone was called on a mission for the Mormon Church to Japan and was accompanied by his wife, Anna Marie Snow Featherstone. The diary was kept from 26 June 1902 to 14 Nov. 1903 and records the Featherstone's daily activities in Japan. Also included is a typescript of the funeral oration for Anna Featherstone by her daughter, Marie Featherstone Hill.
