Scope and Contents These materials were photocopied from microfilm copies of handwritten items. Caroline Crosby wrote about her early life in Massachusetts and Canada. She married Jonathan Crosby in 1834. She was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1835. She lived in Kirtland, Ohio, and later moved to Indiana. Scope and Contents

Photocopies of a handwritten autobiography and diary. Also included is a typescript of these items. Crosby joined the Mormon Church and followed that faith to Kirtland, Ohio and later to Nauvoo, Illinois. Crosby migrated to Utah in 1848. He served on missions for the Mormon Church in Canada, 1842-3, and in the South Pacific, 1850-2, where he spent most of his time in Tahiti. The diary covers the years 1850 to 1852.

Scope and Contents Typewritten carbon copy of an autobiography with pencilled corrections composed in Lawrence, Kansas in 1904. Gore participated in an overland journey to Jacksonville, Oregon in 1852 and presents many insights into frontier and pioneer life. Gore was familiar with the Mormons in Kirtland, Ohio and in Nauvoo, Illinois. Handwritten legal statements and affidavits. In 1846 Harris signed over control of his financial affiars to Jacob Bump and Preserved Harris while he planned to go to Europe for one year. In 1865, Martin Harris charged that Jacob Bump and William Fuller illegally took some of his property when he was gone. The items were registered in the court of Lake County, Ohio. The Mormon gathering place of Kirtland, Ohio is located in the same county.
