Clarence D. Taylor correspondence from World War II, 1940-1945
Contains 177 letters between Clarence D. Taylor and Maria D. Taylor, his mother, while he served as a soldier in the United States military during World War II. Also includes transcripts of the letters. Dated 1940-1945.
Philip St. George Cooke letter
Handwritten letter dated 8 March 1886. Cooke responds to a request to give an account his part in the Utah Expedition, 1857-1858, during which a federal army entered Utah. Cooke writes about the march, the wintering at Fort Bridger, Wyoming, the establishing of Camp Floyd, Utah, and about his conversatins with Albert Sidney Johnston, who led the expedition.
John Scott Davenport correspondence and pamphlets
Handwritten and typewritten correspondence, travel brochures, and newspaper articles. Much of the correspondence was written while Davenport served in the United States military during the Second World War. He spent most of his time in California and Okinawa during that war. Also included is some correspondence between family members.

Handwritten and signed letter, dated January 6, 1864, and addressed to James William Denver. Fremont writes concerning a bill to be intruduced by members of the Missouri legislature which would be very generous to the holders of stock in the "Old Road."

Handwritten and signed letter, dated September 7, 1850, and addressed to Susan B. Ferrell. Fremont writes concerning the gold mines in California and the best time of the year to go to that state.
George W. Hadden correspondence
Handwritten and signed correspondence. The items were written by Hadden and others who were probably family members. The materials relate activities in the gold fields of California and also tell about activities during the Civil War. Also included is a printed poem about the Battle of the Wilderness in 1864.
