The collection contains letters written to and from Gould about personal and regimental matters during and immediately after the Civil War. Includes three quartermaster receipts, a claim of an enlisted man for back pay in which Gould acted as attorney, and responses to Gould's request for an honorable discharge.

Heber J. Grant letter

Handwritten and signed letter dated 17 Aug. 1903 and addressed to Abraham Owen Woodruff (1872-1904). Grant was in Japan on a mission for the Mormon Church when he wrote this letter. Grant informs Woodruff that he would be unable to return to the United States to attend the October General Conference of the Mormon Church.
