There are approximately 100 cases and about 1200 items.

Mss. Includes two requests for ejectment of individuals from land in the cases of Daniel H. Wells vs. Lodowick Ferre and Daniel H. Wells vs. William M. Powers. Wells also requests $500 in damages from each defendant.

One of the items deals with the payment of taxes owed on certain properties in the county. The other item is a statement of guardianship and real estate inheritances relating to the children of Emma Smith and signed by her.

Contains legal documents signed by Abraham Lincoln when he was a justice of the peace for the circuit court of Hancock County, Illinois, dating from between 1841 and 1843.

Mss. The collection includes legal documents concerning cases involving John Taylor which include writs of attachment, a declaration, an affidavit, a precipe, and an exemplification of record which originated in Lake County, Ohio and was transferred to the Hancock County, Illinois Circuit Court.
