Collection includes two presidential certificates awarded to Frank Leland Noel. The first of which is awarded for "uncompensated services", and the second which recognizes confidence in Noel's patriotism, fidelity, and abilities. Also included is a certificate of the register of the land office acknowledging Howard K. Coray, Noel's father-in-law. The collection dates from approximately 1876 to 1944.
Somphone Nonnarath interview
Typewritten and bound transcript of an interview conducted by Robert G. Larson for the LDS Asian-American Oral History Project of the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies at Brigham Young University on 7, 9, 19 October 1992 and 29 July 1993. Nonnarath tells about growing up in Laos, his military career in that country, his incarceration following the takeover by the communists, his conversion to the Mormon religion, and his life in Oakland, California.
