German language mission notebook kept by Ames K. Bagley during his service as a missionary for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Germany. Notebook includes German language sayings and proverbs, missionary talks, lessons and visual aids, poems, pedagogical materials, and newspaper clippings. Dated approximately 1923 to 1926.

Scope and Contents Includes journals, notebooks, an autograph album, letters, and articles relating to his mission in Australia. Five journals document his missionary activities in Sidney, Tasmania, Adelaide, and Perth, including encounters with RLDS missionaries. Notebooks contain a statistical record of his missionary activities, and missionary references, including notes on polygamy and on the RLDS Church. Autograph album contains messages from missionaries, Church members, and other friends in Australia....

The collection includes the missionary journals of Robert R. Gardner serving in Australia, 1907-1908, and of Neil S. Gardner serving in Canada, 1894-1896. Also a notebook of Robert R. Gardner containing historical quotes and references to the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and polygamy.

This is a holograph original of the piece "A Grateful Mother's Standpoint" given to her, as she believed, by inspiration. The story deals with the biblical Rachel and her life in polygamy. She alludes to the then current state of polygamous families and the presecution faced by the Latter-day Saint community.

Abstract

The Michelle Bennett Hawkins papers include notebooks, photographs, diaries, planners, letters and ephemera pertaining to Michelle's life. A significant amount of the collection has to do with Michelle's LDS mission to Puerto Rico.
