Typewritten excerpts from a handwritten diary. Gallup summarizes his activities monthly. Gallup settled in Springville, Utah, in 1851. He writes about encounters with Ute Indians, the Utah War, and the Mormon "reformation." He comments on Mormon polygamy and tells about the death of his wife. Also included are the patriarchal blessings given to Luke and to his wife, Lydia.

Joshua Hawkes autobiography

Photocopy of a typescript. Hawkes was born in Missouri and lived in Nauvoo, Illinois, as a small child. He later came to Utah and lived in several places. He eventaully settled in Franklin, Idaho. He participated in the Walker War against the Ute Indians and also in the Utah War against the United States Army.

Nielson. Nielson also wrote the biography of Amanda Bradley Henrie (1829-1903). Handwritten autobiography of Hillman describing his conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his later experiences. He writes about the persecutions and problems the Mormons faced in Kirtland, Ohio, Missouri, and Nauvoo, Illinois. He also writes about encounters with Ute Indians during the 1850s following his migration to Utah. Also included are family financial records. Collection includes photocopy of materials.

Scope and Contents Photocopies of a typescript of a diary and an autobiography. The diary covers the years from 1851 to 1857 and has many gaps. The autobiographical materials cover the rest of Larsen's life. Larsen was converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Denmark and performed missionary work in that country and in Norway.
