Photocopies of typescripts. File contains excerpts from three documents, all originally compiled by Evans Coleman: "History of the Coleman Family;" "Saint Johns Purchase;" and "Biography of Emma Beck Coleman." These documents were originally compiled between 1938 and 1942, although all of them refer to events either in Missouri during the late 1830s or in Arizona during the 1880s.

Photocopy of a typed history of Stephen Markham by Julina Markham Crow. The item gives an account of Stephen Markham's personal life as well as his involvement in the early history of Mormonism. This includes his close association with the Mormon Prophets, Joseph Smith (1805-1844) and Brigham Young (1801-1877), his participation with the initial Mormon pioneer company of 1847, and his involvement in the settlement of Utah.

Microfilmed copies of original joint legislative committee journals (1838-1839), legislative proceedings (1838-1841), correspondence and orders (1838-1839), evidence given at the court of inquiry held in November 1838 to investigate Joseph Smith (1805-1844) and others for high treason, and certificates dealing with indictments against Mormons (1841) pertaining to the Mormon disturbances in Missouri (1838-1841). The film is 16 mm. and 35 mm. and is photonegative.
