Typewritten biography of Mervyn Bennion. Mervyn was born and raised in Vernon, Utah, attended the U.S. Naval Academy, and served as an officer in the U.S. Navy. He was the Captain on board the U.S.S. West Virginia at Pearl Harbor on Dec. 7, 1941. He was killed in the attack.

Scope and Contents This collection consists of two family histories written by Verna Durrant Humphries. The largest is 141 leaves and is bound. It is a history of the author's father, William Rendell Durrant (1877-1951), and her paternal uncle, Walter Henry Fitzgerald Durrant (1876-1952), as well as each man's posterity.
