Scope and Contents

Contains Smith's letters to his wife Amelia, including letters from their courtship (November 1902-April 1903) and during his missionary service in England (April 1905-April 1907). Most of the letters are written from his missionary residence in London; others are written while on tour with his father, President Joseph F. Smith, between August and September 1906. Original enclosures are included. Dated November 17, 1902 - April 15, 1907.

The sixth journal includes notes Carter took on his genealogy during his missionary service. Dated 1877-1879.
