Photocopy of a handwritten letter and a typescript of the item. The letter is addressed to "Dear Brother and Sister" and dated 3 May 1849. Bishop writes about family matters and quotes from the second book of Esdras dealing with the end of the world.
Leonard Smith Conger letter to Levi Conger
ALS. The letter includes Conger's testimony of the Latter-day Saint Church and his belief that destruction and famine will come upon the United States within five years and safety will only be found in Zion (Utah).
Wilford Woodruff diary excerpt
Photocopy of a handwritten diary excerpt that includes a copy of an unattributed vision or a dream which Woodruff had obtained. The vision claimed to foresee of the last days in which a great loss of life and a great destruction would befall the the cities of the eastern United States. Photocopy includes entries from June 14 to 22, 1878.
