Scope and Contents Photocopies of a 224 page holograph diary. Tate, a native of Tooele, Utah, was called as a missionary to the Southern States' Mission for the Mormon Church in 1887. His diary recounts how he received this call, how he prepared for his mission, and various incidents relating to missionary activities and his personal experiences.On one occasion (23 Dec. 1887), he and his companion (Milo Hendricks) were shot with a shot gun. Young.
