Handwritten letter to an unidentified person, dated 16 Nov. 1887, and written in Washington, DC. Van Vliet accepts an invitation to attend a luncheon and then to speak.

Tapes are both originals and transfers, and include Low and Slow, Spirit Doctors, 38th Street Gangs, Art and Color, and Mundo Milagroso. Also included are tapes of research material, concerning the Navajo Weavers and Guatemala. Materials range from approximately 1980-2002.
Philip T. Van Zile scrapbook
Bound scrapbook which contains newspaper clippings regarding The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, polygamy, Van Zile's work as U.S. District Attorney, and other activities that took place in Utah during the early 1880's. Many items are accompanied by holograph notations by Van Zile. Also includes letters to Van Zile from William M. Thompson and Robert G. McNiece.
Hyrum S. Vance diary
Handwritten diary. Vance documents his daily activities while serving on a mission. There are many gaps in the record. A number of clippings of poetry and sayings have been glued into the diary. Vance spent part of his time working in the state of Illinois.
