His family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and migrated to Utah in 1853 and later settled in American Fork. He married Mary Helen Wilson. Mary Wilson was born in 1848 in Philadelphia, and she died in 1919. He died in 1940.

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typed biography. Joseph H. Armstrong was born in England in 1850. His family joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and migrated to Utah in 1853. They suffered many harships on the way. The family settled in American Fork, Utah, in 1862. He was a carpenter and a farmer, and he died in 1933.
