Smith (1832-1918) sixth President of the LDS Church. The bulk of the collection deals with the years 1870 to 1918. These research files are documentation for Kinney's proposed biography of Smith.

Snow, with a few to their children; a certificate of election, a deed, and a family group sheet (photocopies). Letters contain information pertaining to relations with his plural family, his missionary experiences in England, and the building of the Manti, Utah Temple. Includes cover letter by donor.

Scope and Contents Contains letters of correspondence between Thomas L. Kane and George Q. Cannon. Many of the letters were sent by Cannon from Washington, D.C. and Salt Lake City, Utah as he served as chief political strategist for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. They were received by Kane in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Letters date between 1859 to 1884, the majority of which date between 1874 to 1878.

Scope and Contents One handwritten letter to Frank Fuller, acting governor of Utah, regarding two acts of the Utah legislature. The acts were a "Memorial to Congress for semi-weekly mail service from Fillmore to San Bernadino, Cal." and a "Memorial to Congress for an Act authorizing treaties with Indians, and the extinguishment of the Indian titles." These items were forwarded to Fuller for his "action."
