Scope and Contents Photocopies of histories, biographies, genealogical pedigree charts, references in books, and miscellaneous items relating to the Lamoureux, Lamereaux, or Lamoreaux family. Also included are similar materials relating to the Leithead family. The Lamoureux family was of French-Canadian stock. They were early members of the Mormon Church and participated in the settling of Utah.

Scope and Contents Photocopies of printed versions of Leithead's autobiography and diaries. Also included are various histories and biographies of members of the Leithead family. James emigrated from Scotland to eastern Canada where he was introduced to the Mormon faith. He lived in Nauvoo, Illinois, and accompanied the Mormons to Utah where he settled in Farmington and later in Glendale. He also lived for several years on the Muddy River in Nevada as part of Mormon attempts to settle there.
