Handwritten journal describing Littlefield's travels around the world in 1873-4. He started in Boston Mass. and travelled westward across the United States. He then went across the Pacific to the Far East and returned to Boston by way of Europe and the Atlantic. The account contains detailed descriptions of the Far East and his railroad trip across the United States. He also describes his visit to Ogden and Salt Lake City, Utah.

Scope and Contents

Handwritten diaries for the years 1918 to 1939 with many gaps. Also included is a biography of Mabel Shirk Larkin by Montrue Grey Larkin. Mabel Larkin was a Methodist who converted to Mormonism in 1905. Her diaries tell about her family and private life in Ogden and in Snowville, Utah.

Scope and Contents Photocopies of a typescript of a diary and an autobiography. The diary covers the years from 1851 to 1857 and has many gaps. The autobiographical materials cover the rest of Larsen's life. Larsen was converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Denmark and performed missionary work in that country and in Norway. Biographical sketch of Ether E. McBride

Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typed autobiography. McBride was born in Scotland in 1848 and came to Utah by handcart in 1856. He did not specify which handcart company he travelled with. He lived in Ogden and later in Grantsville, Utah. He played with Indian children in the Ogden area and learned their language and customs.

Heber Robert McBride autobiography

McBride was born in England, joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints with his parents in 1856, and migrated to Utah. McBride writes about migrating to Utah in the ill-fated handcart company led by Edward Martin. He tells about the hardships he and his family faced. Handwritten and signed orders dated 27 Sept. 1866 and 23 Sept. 1869. The materials appear to be signed by a T.G. Webber or a T.T. Webber. The items are addressed to Capt. F. S. Richards and were issued under the command of Brig. Gen. F. D. Richards and apparently deal with the fall muster of the Utah militia in Ogden.
