Ella Kirstina Jensen was born in Denmark in 1869 and came to Utah in 1901. She met Emil in 1903, and they were married later.

She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and migrated to Utah in 1856 with the ill-fated Willie handcart company. She settled in American Fork, Utah, and died in 1921.
