Contains two items. The first is a ribbon commemorating the completion of the Panama Canal on July 17, 1915. The second is a photocopy of some poems written by Janette Carrington in 1896. They are titled: "An Apostrophe to Zion," "Worship God," "The Prophet Joseph Smith," and "Zion's Leaders".

Holograph scripts for The Converts (1844-1849), a three act play, and My Wife's Gone to the City (1856), and a holograph copy of his song, "The Men of 76 and the Boys of 47" (1856). Also includes a playbill, newspaper clipping and provenance notes.

Scope and Contents Two unbound booklets of handwritten poetry with pen and ink illustrations. One of the booklets is a fully illustrated poem entitled "A Mormon Romance" which satirizes the Mormon practice of polygamy. On the cover of this item is a pen and ink illustration of Nauvoo, Ill. The other item contains poems describing the author's experiences while visiting the Mormon community of Nauvoo, Illinois in 1840 when she was introduced to the Mormon Church, met Brigham Young, and heard a sermon...
