Mark Ardath Dalton Sr. papers
Contains a phrenological report for Jesse N. Smith given by O. S. Fowler, dated 1872; a two-page manuscript by Mark Ardeth Dalton relating how he learned of the connection between his grandfather, Jesse N. Smith, and Heber J. Grant, president of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints from 1918 to 1945, dated 1935; two copies of The Kinsman (vol. 29 no. 3-4) with stories relating to the other materials in the collection, dated 1975.
Heber J. Grant letter
Typewritten and signed letter dated 27 July 1932 and addressed to Joseph Fielding Smith, Church Historian of the Mormon Church. Grant tells Smith that he is sending book entitled "Autograph Letters and Documents of George Washington" to be placed in the Historian's Office.
Heber J. Grant letter
Handwritten and signed letter, dated 29 Dec. 1916, and addressed to Sister Taylor. The item accompanied a copy of William Jennings Bryan's "The Prince of Peace" which Grant sent to Taylor.
Heber J. Grant letter to Clifford E. Young
A typed letter signed by Heber J. Grant, and addressed to Clifford E. Young, while he was serving as the first bank manager of the Bank of American Fork. The letter encourages Young to read an accompanying book - probably The New Way to Net Profits, by Fred W. Shibley. The letter is dated May 13, 1929.
Heber J. Grant papers
Typewritten autobiography, poems, correspondence, pamphlets, and a poem of eulogy presented at the time of his death stating many of Grant's accomplishments. Some of the items were signed by Grant and by others. In his autobiography, Grant writes about his experiences and his faith in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Heber J. Grant statements
Photocopy of a 1922 newsclipping concerning political affiliations of the Mormon Church and its members. The Church was not officially aligned politically. The other item is typed, undated, and relates to the conferring of the priesthood in the Mormon Church. Each item is endorsed by Heber J. Grant and the other members of the First Presidency of the Mormon Church.

Photocopies of correspondence, minutes, journals, and subject research files of Scott Kinney. These materials relate to Joseph F. Smith (1832-1918) sixth President of the LDS Church. The bulk of the collection deals with the years 1870 to 1918. These research files are documentation for Kinney's proposed biography of Smith.
