Photocopies and microfilmed copies of letters, pamphlets, newspaper articles, sections of books, maps, biographies, histories, and miscellaneous items. The materials relate to a large range of topics in the early history of the Mormon Church, to its early leaders and presidents, and to the genealogies of early prominent members of that faith. The materials were acquired in various research institutions in Massachusetts.

Photocopies of handwritten and typed letters, histories, interviews, diaries, pamphlets, and newspapers. The materials relate to a large range of topics in the early history of the Mormon Church; Joseph Smith, second president of the Mormon Church; and his family. Interviewees include Smith family members and those who knew them. The items were copied by Donald Q. Cannon as part of the continuing Mormon Church History Sources Project.

Contains correspondence, diaries, scrapbooks, plaques, printed ephemera, photographs, and other material created by Elaine Cannon and other members of the Cannon family. The materials document Cannon's church service, writing career, and family life. Includes audio and video recordings. Also includes materials created by D. James Cannon, Elaine Cannon's husband, related to his personal life and church service. Materials date from 1832 to 2003.

Frank J. Cannon letter

Typewritten and signed letter written to John M. Cannon in Washington, D.C. Frank is asking John to talk to the president of the Mormon Church, Joseph F. Smith (1838-1918), concerning $15,000 in coupons which Frank gave to Smith after a conference.

George Q. Cannon letter

Typewritten letter addressed "to Presidents of Stakes, Bishops, and Stake Superintendents of Sunday Schools." The item expresses faith in the Sunday School system of the Mormon Church and states that it will help the membership earn their salvation. The letter was signed by Cannon, George Goddard, and Karl G. Maeser as members of the General Superintendency of Sunday School for the Mormon Church. The signatures were placed on the item by some form of mechanical reproducing process.
