Scope and Contents Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typescript. The item is an autobiography of Ann Prior Jarvis. Ann was born in England and joined the Mormon Church in 1848. Ann writes about an experience in which her daughter lived when she was expected to die. Scope and Contents Two handwritten autobiographies, a biography of George Jarvis (1823-1913), miscellaneous materials, and photocopies of these items. Ann was born in England and married George Jarvis at age sixteen. She and George were converted to the Mormon Church in 1848. George worked as a sailor to earn money for the journey to Utah. They arrived in Salt Lake City around 1860 and moved to St. George, Utah in 1861. Ann had eleven children. Anne recounts the major events of her life and writes about her...

Scope and Contents

Typewritten copy of a handwritten autobiography and diary. The autobiography was written in 1884 and tells of Jarvis' early life in England, her migration to Utah, and her move to St. George. Jarvis' diary covers the years 1884 to 1898. There are many gaps. She writes about the weather and her daily activities. Also included are patriarchal blessings of family members dating from 1875 to 1881. Most of them were given by William G. Perkins.
