Arza Adams autobiographies and diaries

Scope and Contents

Photocopies of microfilm copies of handwritten diaries. Adams joined the Mormon Church in 1836 and served as missionary for that faith in Canada. He moved to Nauvoo, Illinois, and worked on the Nauvoo Temple. He came to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1849.

Myrtle K. Aiu personal history

Scope and Contents

Contains a 10-page typed autobiography of Myrtle K. Aiu detailing her conversion to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and some of her memorable spiritual experiences, including a trip to Hong Kong in 1969. Includes a typed postscript and envelope. Myrtle refers to this work as her "personal history." Materials dated 1978.

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typescript of an autobiography and diary. Allen writes about his youth in Kentucky and move to Missouri after he joined the Mormon Church. He later moved to Nauvoo, Illinois, and joined the Mormon exodus to Utah in 1847. He tells about the hardships of early settlement in Salt Lake City, Utah. His diary starts in 1857. Lorraine Morton Ashton collection on Ermel J. Morton

Collection consists of papers relating to the dictionary Ermel J. Morton, a Mormon missionary who went to Tonga, created from English to Tongan and Tongan to English, his accounts of his mission and translating the Book of Mormon, a history of his wife, a catalog of his materials from home, a typed copy of the talks at his funeral and a Tongan grammar book. There is also a book written about the time the family spent in Tonga.
