Materials include photographs and prints taken by Walter P. Cottam throughout Utah between approximately 1920 and 1940. The subjects of these photographs include landscapes, close shots of flowers and other plants, photographs of buildings, and photographs of people on hikes, fishing, or doing other similar activities. Materials also include 96 negatives that correspond to prints in the collection. Materials also include oversize prints on the same subjects.

Materials include one postcard from 1908 with Charles Ellis Johnson's photograph of Antelope Island on the front. It shows a small strip of land in the foreground, with a boat on the water and some land behind the boat. Somebody wrote a letter to a Bertha on the back.

All these photographs are from an unknown source. These photographs were taken by tourists to Yellowstone National Park while traveling with the Wylie Permanent Camping Company.
