Most of the material was generated by Allen before and after he served as chairman of the Department of Psychology at Brigham Young University.

This collection consists of a set of lecture notes taken from the addresses of Wilhelm Max Wundt (1832-1920) from 1898-1899 while Rost was a student at Leipzig. They deal with the topics of philosophy, logic, and psychology. These notes appear to be paraphrases of Wundt's lectures. Wundt published numerous works on each of these topics.
