Peter Beck was born in Denmark in 1850 and joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when he was eight years old. He migrated to Utah in 1862. Included are some comments by Beck relating to his journey to Utah. Beck became a rancher and farmer and settled in American Fork, Utah. He married two women, had 17 children, and died in 1927.

She migrated to Utah in 1869 by railroad and settled in American Fork. She married George Taylor in 1870 and was "set apart" as a midwife in 1883. After the death of George, Alice married Thomas G. Steele. She died in 1917.
