Contains two letters addressed to Kane. One is signed by her mother, Elizabeth Wood Kane and mostly discusses family matters. The other is signed "Carrie" and includes a detailed account of the costs of a sacque that Carrie had purchased on Harriet's behalf. The letter from Elizabeth Wood Kane is undated. The letter from Carrie is dated 1891.

Contains materials related to the life and activities of Kane. These consist primarily of a series of composition books and two letters. The composition books contain mostly letters written by Harriet to her mother, father, and others, but later volumes include medical notes.
