The collection of professional papers of James B. Allen, includes drafts and research files for various books, correspondence, class lecture notes and other papers. Manuscripts include those for The Story of The Latter-day Saints, The Company Town in the American West, Men with a Mission and Hearts Turned to the Fathers.

Scope and Contents Contains oral history project case files, audio interviews, and bound transcripts of oral history interviews completed by the Charles Redd Center for Western Studies between 1959 and 2013. In general, case files may contain an analog recording of the interview made by the interviewer, a typed transcript, a corrected transcript, and documents regarding permission to make the documents public signed by the person interviewed. Contains papers submitted to various history professors for History 400 and other upper-division history classes. Among the topics covered are Native Americans, nineteenth-century gold mining in the American West, Mormons, Spanish explorers and missionaries; the American Southwest, Mexico, and African Americans.
