Typewritten book draft with handwritten corrections. Butler and his wife took a bet to ride on horseback from the Canadian-North Dakota border to the town of Deadwood, South Dakota in twenty days. They actually started near Winnipeg, Canada and rode 1,550 miles to Steamboat Springs, Colorado in 92 days. The item was submitted to the Old Army Press for publication.

Contains portions of a draft of a book discussing novel writing by Welsh writer Silwyn Williams entitled, "A Creative Writing Textbook: Writing a Novel," containing suggestions on writing a novel. The sections which were collected by Norris are not a complete version of the work, it is unclear why other portions are missing. Materials date from around 1985 through 1995.
