Percy Bigmouth papers
Contains various Mescalero Apache legends recorded by Percy Bigmouth at the request of Carolyn Block (later Akrom). Also includes correspondence, almost entirely from Percy Bigmouth. Book three includes photographs of Bigmouth and two short essays about Percy Bigmouth. There is also a statement made by Bigmouth, Percy's father, on the history of the Mescalero Apaches.

The Black Wheel
Galley proofs and pasted proofs with handwritten corrections of two novels by Merritt. "The Black Wheel" was completed by Hannes Bok (1914-1964), an American author and illustrator, after the death of Merritt. The book was published in 1948. Also included are proofs of "The Fox Woman" by Merritt, which was published in 1946.
Bloody Knife : Custer's favorite scout
Typewritten book drafts with handwritten corrections. The item is a biography of the Indian scout who served under George Armstrong Custer. The manuscript was submitted to the Old Army Press for publication.
