Anna Mary Ball Frewin autobiography

Typewritten copy of an autobiography. Frewin was born in England, migrated to Utah in 1881, and settled in Salt Lake City, Utah. She writes about Mormon polygamists hiding from federal officials stating, "you couldn't tell whether there was a man or woman coming down the street because the men were dressed in women's clothing with sun bonnets."

Joseph Smith Black autobiography

Scope and Contents
Handwritten autobiography. Black wrote this account when he was in the Utah Penitentiary for polygamy. The autobiography starts in the year 1877 when Black was living in Deseret, Utah. He writes about his life in Deseret, his avoidance of federal officials while resisting arrest for polygamy, and his subsequent incarceration in prison.

Collection contains Isaac Brockbank Jr.'s personal diaries between 1900-1925, an autobiography which he began to write during the time he spent in a Utah prison for Unlawful Cohabitation, and a typed forward of Brockbank's diaries which includes a personal history of Brockbank's life alongside summaries of each of his diary entries found in the included diaries. Materials dated between 1884-2016.

Angus M. Cannon diaries and letters

Scope and Contents
Collection includes three handwritten diaries dated 1885 to 1886 two letters from 1891. In his diaries, Cannon writes about his imprisonment at the Utah State Penitentiary for polygamy and his subseqent experiences as a stake president for the Mormon Church in Salt Lake City, Utah. His letters are addressed to his sons George and John, and to Levi Colvin of Payson, Utah. Photocopies and typescripts of the diaries are also included.
