Henry Ballard diary

Scope and Contents
Two typescripts of the Ballard diary. They vary in small details and in the nature of the added materials found at the back. Ballard was converted to Mormonism in England. He arrived in Utah in 1852, was active in the Utah War of 1857-8, and settled in Logan, Utah in 1859.
He was a bishop for the Mormon Church, participated in many of the activities of that faith, and was sentenced to two months in the Utah penitentiary for polygamy. He also tells about troubles with the Indians of the Cache...

Biography of John Pearson

Scope and Contents
Typewritten biography of John Pearson and his wife, Mary Ann Potts Pearson. John Pearson was born in England in 1822, joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and migrated to Utah in 1853. He later settled in Logan, Utah, where he worked as a farmer. He died in 1914. Mary Ann Potts was born in England in 1831, married John Pearson in 1856, had eight daughters by him, and died in 1905.

Charles Ora Card diaries

Scope and Contents
Photocopies of handwritten diaries. The diaries are excerpts of a much larger work and were kept from 1871 to 1872 and for 1883. Card writes about travelling in the East United States on a "winter mission." Card also writes about the construction of the Logan Temple of the Mormon Church in 1883.

Handwritten diaries. Card lived in Logan and Salt Lake City, Utah and in Cardston, Alberta. He farmed and ran an insurance business. He held many positions in the Mormon Church including mission president of the Western Canadian Mission in Edmonton.

Mary Ann Burnham Freeze diaries
