Arza Adams diaries

Scope and Contents Handwritten diaries in four volumes. Also included are photocopies of the materials. Adams mentions his youth and starts his diaries in 1830. He joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1836 and subsequently lived in Missouri, Illinois, and Iowa, and came to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1849.

Biography of John Olney Adams (native pioneer) and his wife, Mattie Marie Peterson

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a microfilmed copy of a typewritten biography. John Olney Adams was born in American Fork, Utah, in 1861 and Mattie Marie Peterson was born in 1864 in Denmark. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and migrated to Utah. They married in 1884. John died in 1932 in Bingham, Utah, and Mattie died in 1928.

Scope and Contents Handwritten autobiography with a typescript of the item. Adams came from Ireland, migrated to Nauvoo, Illinois, and later to Salt Lake Valley, Utah. Adams writes about Jacob Hamblin's efforts to convert Indians, the preparations to meet the United States Army coming to Utah in 1857 and 1858, going on a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and meeting Emma Hales Smith, the wife of the first...

Biography : Maregaret Hall Ruston Alston, came to Utah in 1850

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a typewritten biography. Maragaret Hall Rushton Alston was born in England. She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and migrated with her first husband, John Rushton, to the United States. He died in St. Louis, Missouri, and she arrived in Utah in 1850 and later settled in American Fork. She caught cold and died.

Catherine Ellen Camp Greer anecdotes and reminiscences

Scope and Contents Typewritten autobiography. Greer was born in Dresden, Tennessee, in 1837. After her parents joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she moved with them to Nauvoo, Illinois. She migrated to Utah in 1850 and settled in Bountiful. She later moved to southern Arizona where she lived in Woodruff.
