Ebenezer Beesley papers

Scope and Contents Mormon hymn books, musical scores, newspaper clippings, a short autobiography, a biography, and letters. Also included is a photostat copy of a handwritten list of passangers on the William Tapscott in 1859. The Mormons on the ship later formed the George Rowley handcart company which emigrated to Utah in 1859. Also included is a typescript of a diary by an unnamed person describing the journey to Utah with the Rowley company. This is transcription from the Journal History of the Church...

Emma Lucy Gates Bowen papers

Scope and Contents Correspondence, concert programs, music scores, and miscellaneous items. Includes correspondence of Bowen when she was in Germany as an opera singer from 1898 to 1914 and later when she was a voice and music teacher in Salt Lake City, Utah. Also included are letters from her husband, Albert E. Bowen from 1897 to 1923 and Lucy's agent, Catherine A. Bowman. Some of the materials relate to the Lucy Gates Opera Company.

Anna Lindquist Brady autobiography

Scope and Contents Autobiography, correspondence, and photographs of family members. The letters are between Anna Brady and Lorin F. Wheelwright relating to donations for the Brigham Young University Centennial. Anna Lindquist was born in Fairview, Utah, attended Snow College and Brigham Young University, and married William Wells Brady (1886-1964). She later moved with her husband to Rigby, Idaho. She was the mother of four children, was a musician, and was active in Mormon Church callings.

Richard Condie papers

Scope and Contents This collection includes press clippings from national and local publications highlighting events in Condie's career, especially in relation to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir; photographs, books, and scores annotated and marked by Condie during performance or study; and other personal materials such as a typescript of an oral history given by Condie, circa 1950-1970.

Scope and Contents Collection contains scores and other material contain multiple computer-printed scores and sets of parts, manuscript scores and sets of parts, photocopies of published scores, and onionskin copies of Cundick's musical works. Multiple, variable copies exist for a single piece. Also included are correspondence and select CD and DVD recordings of his music, of both professionally-recorded and non-commercial varieties. The materials in this collection span from 1948 to 2013.

Biographical sketches of the life of William Grant

Scope and Contents Handwritten autobiography and diary. Grant wrote his autobiography in 1882. Subsequently he kept a journal in the same volume. The diary consists mainly of monthly summaries of Grant's activities. Grant writes about his conversion to the Mormon Church in England, his migration to American Fork, Utah, and his activities as a businessman and musician. Grant also comments on Mormon polygamy.

William F. Hanson papers

Scope and Contents Indian opera productions composed by Hanson, musical scores, research material, and scrapbooks and photos based on ceremonies and music of the Ute Indians of Colorado and Utah. Operas included are: "Sun Dance," produced in New York City, 1938, "Bear Dance," and "The Bleeding Heart," a white man's fantasy of an imaginary Indian people who lived at the base of Mount Timpanogos in Utah.

Scope and Contents This collection contains 65 photographs and 102 negatives (and prints from those negatives) from William F. Hanson. Most of the photographs and negatives are duplicates of material found in the William F. Hanson Papers (MSS 229) and the William F. Hanson Collection (MSS 3340). The images are mainly of Indian opera productions composed by Hanson and of the Ute Indians of Colorado and Utah, as well as several photographs of William F. Hanson himself.
