Foreword to a life story

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a handwritten autobiography of John L. Seymour who taught at Sacramento Junior College for 24 years, produced and directed many plays, composed operas and chamber music. He later moved to Cedar City, Utah after the death of his mother and established a memorial library for her at Southern Utah State College. He discusses the operas he wrote and describes his philosophy of life.

Scope and Contents Photocopy of typescript. Author discusses his family's British roots; their acceptance of Mormonism while living in Birmingham, England, and their immigration to the United States. Tolton also describes his experiences during the Black Hawk War (Utah) and frontier life in Utah. His account goes into great detail about his involvement in territorial and state politics, his business ventures, family life, and his mission to Great Britain for the Mormon Church.

Scope and Contents Handwritten diaries in four volumes for the years 1886-1929, 1936-1938, 1944-1949, and 1949-1950. Gardner writes about her daily activities in Pine Valley and in Cedar City, Utah. Also included are notes taken in a theology class at Brigham Young Academy in Provo, Utah.
