Paul W. Belcher novel manuscript

Scope and Contents Collection includes the original manuscript and a photocopy of Paul W. Belcher's novel, The Cruise of the Petrel. The manuscript is the fourth draft of the work. It is handwritten on lined paper, hand illustrated, has ten chapters, and is one hundred-forty pages in length. The story is about three boys, Jack, Paul, and Dick, who build a yacht and go on an adventure in the Great Salt Lake. They find radium on a mysterious island. Percy Bigmouth papers

Scope and Contents Contains various Mescalero Apache legends recorded by Percy Bigmouth at the request of Carolyn Block (later Akrom). Also includes correspondence, almost entirely from Percy Bigmouth. Book three includes photographs of Bigmouth and two short essays about Percy Bigmouth. There is also a statement made by Bigmouth, Percy's father, on the history of the Mescalero Apaches.

Content Description Contains ethnographic notes and accounts of Ina Sizer Cassidy's interactions with Native Americans in Arizona while the author was living there as well as descriptions of Hopi life. Materials are from Oraibi, Arizona in 1915 and shortly afterward. Some of the documents are copies from original Cassidy typescripts. The materials are dated between 1915-1965.

Echoes of the sage and cedars : a centennial history of Oak City, Utah, 1868-1969

Scope and Contents The materials are a near final draft of a municipally published town history produced between 1969 and 1970. The typescript includes numerous additons, corrections, and notes in the margins. Also included with this typescript are select gally proofs. This history centers around the Mormon congregation known as the Oak Creek Branch (1874-1877), Oak Creek Ward (1877-1922), and the Oak City Ward (1922- ). The book also includes numerous biographies of past residents.
