Butler and his wife took a bet to ride on horseback from the Canadian-North Dakota border to the town of Deadwood, South Dakota in twenty days. They actually started near Winnipeg, Canada and rode 1,550 miles to Steamboat Springs, Colorado in 92 days. The item was submitted to the Old Army Press for publication.
