Also included is a photostat copy of a handwritten list of passangers on the William Tapscott in 1859. The Mormons on the ship later formed the George Rowley handcart company which emigrated to Utah in 1859. Correspondence, concert programs, music scores, and miscellaneous items. Includes correspondence of Bowen when she was in Germany as an opera singer from 1898 to 1914 and later when she was a voice and music teacher in Salt Lake City, Utah. Also included are letters from her husband, Albert E. Bowen from 1897 to 1923 and Lucy's agent, Catherine A. Bowman. Some of the materials relate to the Lucy Gates Opera Company.

Indian opera productions composed by Hanson, musical scores, research material, and scrapbooks and photos based on ceremonies and music of the Ute Indians of Colorado and Utah. Operas included are: "Sun Dance," produced in New York City, 1938, "Bear Dance," and "The Bleeding Heart," a white man's fantasy of an imaginary Indian people who lived at the base of Mount Timpanogos in Utah.

Edith Jones Olson oral history
Collection — Multiple Containers

Scope and Contents
Autobiography; transcripts of interviews by her grandson, Jeffrey K. Olson; and the original cassette tapes of the interviews. Edith was born at Castle Gate, Utah and lived most of her life in Price, Utah. She played the piano and organ at numerous church services for all denominations and at the movies before the advent of sound. She taught music during WW II, was appointed director of the Carbon County Centennial Arts Committee, and was chosen the First Lady of the Year in Price.
