Ebenezer Beesley papers

Scope and Contents Mormon hymn books, musical scores, newspaper clippings, a short autobiography, a biography, and letters. Also included is a photostat copy of a handwritten list of passangers on the William Tapscott in 1859. The Mormons on the ship later formed the George Rowley handcart company which emigrated to Utah in 1859. Scope and Contents Typewritten copies of biographies and clippings relating to C. C. A. Christensen (1831-1912). Also included is an autobiography of Christensen that has been translated from the original Danish. Christensen is the most noted Mormon artist who documented much of the Mormon experience through his paintings. He also painted murals to decorate Mormon meeting houses and temples.

Edwin Charles Cox papers

Foreword to a life story

Scope and Contents Photocopy of a handwritten autobiography of John L. Seymour who taught at Sacramento Junior College for 24 years, produced and directed many plays, composed operas and chamber music. He later moved to Cedar City, Utah after the death of his mother and established a memorial library for her at Southern Utah State College. He discusses the operas he wrote and describes his philosophy of life.

Nephi Chunn Hicks autobiography

Scope and Contents Typewritten autobiography and a newspaper clipping. Hicks was unable to finish his autobiography due to illness. Hicks was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, delivered newspapers as a young man, and later worked as a newspaper editor in Provo, Utah. Also included is a newspaper clipping from 1971 outlining Hicks' career.
