James I. Steel autobiography and family records
Photocopy of a handwritten autobiography with family records apparently also copied by Steel. James Steel converted to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in England and migrated to Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1854. He later settled in Tooele County, Utah. Steel entered into polygamy in 1874. Also included are ordinations and patriarchal blessings of family members. Steel also writes about his visions and dreams.
Biography of Nathan Staker
Two typewritten biographies of Nathan Staker with photocopies of the same items. Sanderson wrote the biography of Staker with William Marchant Staker and Sarah Ellis Halley Pearson. The authors are grandchildren of Nathan Staker. Also included is a "History of Nathan Staker." Staker was from Canada. He joined the Mormon Church, migrated to Utah in 1852, married two women, and was a farmer in Mt. Pleasant, Utah.
Melissa Brownell letter
Handwritten and signed letter, addressed to "Beloved Sisters," dated June 26 of an unknown year. Internal evidence suggests the item may have been written in the 1880s, but this is uncertain. Brownell writes about men, marriage, and polygamy largely in negative terms. She mentions Mormon men bringing their polygamous wives to California.
Susan Elizabeth Redd Butler papers
Correspondence, autobiographies, diaries, biographies, newspaper clippings, and school compositions. The correspondence, biographies, and diaries relate to Susan's family and parents. Many of the items relate to Mormon polygamy and to Butler's school career. Also included is a biography and biographical materials of Butler's father, Lemuel Hardison Redd.
David Candland diary
Photocopy of a handwritten diary. Candland writes about joining the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and his life in Salt Lake Valley and in Sanpete County, Utah. He talks about his polygamous marriages, the Utah Expedition, and the birth and deaths of children. The item includes a major gap between 1863 and 1900.
Thomas Chamberlain diaries
Three diaries (1875, 1880-1882, 1893-1896), genealogical group sheets of Chamberlain's families, and ten photocopied photographs of Chamberlain and his wives and children. The two earliest items are photocopies of holograph manuscripts while the third is a typescript.
Cordelia Morley Cox collection of biographies
Photocopy of handwritten biographical sketches of family members. Cordelia Cox writes about Emeline Whiting Cox, Emma Peterson Cox, Jemima Losee Cox, Lydia Losee Cox, Frederick Walter Cox, and Isaac Morley. Also included is Cordelia Cox's testimony to the truthfullness of the Mormon faith. She also writes about her experiences as a plural wife of Frederick Cox.
Benjamin C. Critchlow correspondence
The collection includes three letters written by Benjamin C. Critchlow between 1872 and 1887. The first is to his parents and dates from his mission; the second two were written to his wife Martha while he was hiding for polygamy.

Luke William Gallup autobiography and diaries
Photocopy of a microfilm copy of a handwritten autobiography and diary. Gallup writes about his early life in Connecticut, his migration to Iowa, and how he joined the Mormon Church. Gallup moved to Springville, Utah, in 1851. He writes about his life in that town, his service during the Utah Expedition of 1857-8, his relationships to his wives, his mission for the Mormon Church to Connecticut. Gallup moved to Santa Ana, California, in 1888.
